We studied Maya’s bullet system in the first week of Semester 2, which simulates real world movements.
In my first semester, for my 1500 critical paper, I chose to study the innovative technology and use of visual effects behind the DreamWorks How to Train Your Dragon films.
This week we’ve learned how to use Defocus Nodes and Shuffle, and RotoPaint’s various tools. Use a variety of ways to remove and modify scene objects in your video.
Because the removed part of the paper on the wall overlaps with other papers, there will be obvious gap after removal, so I use Rotopaint to fill in the gap drawing.
Continue the model animation this week. We pulled footage and audio from Blade Runner 2049 for reference. The AE was first imported to extract the frame fragments and Wav audio, which was then imported into maya. The next step is to adjust the mouth movements of the head model by frame to match the film footage.
This week’s lecture explained the direction the research report focuses on, its impact on readers and its purpose, which should be matched with my future career plan. In addition, each part of the report is described in detail to help us complete the research report.
This week we learned the details of plane tracking, including how to use palette and roto to make the replacement of plane tracking more realistic. In the video of the Balloon Festival, I used color correction and keyer to assist the special effects of rain and snow, making it have some fantastic colors.
This week, we made animation designs based on the original model, such as smiling, opening mouth and nodding.
And further details of the optimization model.
I wanted to use Nuke to create snow effect, which felt OK, but there were some problems in ScanlineRender node, which could not be integrated with the background snow.
In this week’s lecture, we had a group discussion on the topic of the paper. In the course of our communication, we learned the need for more concrete examples and sources that could explain the techniques of the article itself. I want to analyze the special effects technology and camera language of the film itself, and summarize the behind-the-scenes production of the DreamWorks Pictures films.
